One Year Old!

Happy First Birthday Campbell & Cooper!

We had a great Birthday party with family and friends. The boys loved having everyone at their house. There were tons of presents and they loved every single one!

I can't believe a year has passed so quickly. It seems like just yesterday we were at the doctor's office seeing our twins via ultrasound.

It's been a great year full of fun and new discoveries. Not to mention bumps and bruises as the boys toddle over, around, under, and into everything! We are no longer walking, so toddler really isn't an accurate term. I think sprinter is more appropriate these days.
Campbell has discovered a serious love of balloons. A helium filled mylar balloon can dry his tears in seconds! I realize that this is not the best toy for a 1 year old. However, we are careful and all balloon time is supervised.
Cooper loves to snuggle. He will run and play all day but takes lots of breaks to crawl up on the couch and give us a good snuggle.

Both boys love their big brothers. When Alex and Jack walk in the room they both light up with excitement. The big boys are so good with them. Jack with roll around on the floor and wrestle with them and Alex loves to push them around the house on their toys!

It's been a busy year but I wouldn't trade it for the world!

Walking at Eleven Months!

What a difference a week can make. The boys are walking so well thanks to cell phones and remote controls to motivate them! Daddy calls them zombies because they walk with their arms out in front of them. I have been trying to catch them on video but as soon as they see the camera they forget how to walk. I was able to get this little snippet tonight and had to share! They decided to ham it up for a second and share another of their favorite tricks... head stands! Such show offs when they are in the mood! Enjoy!

September 2009

Catching up!
We have been crazy busy the last 5 months. Sadly the blog is seriously behind. I am giving up precious sleep to get it back up to speed!
Enjoy!

Alex and Jack are freshman! So far highschool is going well. Alex is 15 and will be 16 in December. OMG the idea of my son behind the wheel of a car scares the s&#t out of me. He is a full blown teenager. Friends, girls, music, and tv are all he thinks about. He is on the tennis team at school and his first progress report was great. Jack is 14 and is playing baseball. He too is a typical teen. He has a girlfriend and would spend every second with her if we let him. I can't get used to the idea of my boys growing up. It's all happening too fast!

Campbell and Cooper are 11 months old. Wow how time flies. In the last few months they have grown so much so fast. Campbell is walking. He takes as many as 17 steps. Cooper isn't far behind he takes about 5 before falling and clapping for himself. I love the expressions on their faces when they walk. The big proud smiles while trying to use every muscle (even their facial muscles) to balance themselves! Campbell has 6 teeth and Cooper has 4. Anyone who dares to eat in their presence should be prepared to have them stand in front of you like a couple of little birds waiting for a bite. They love music. For those parents who don't think babies should watch TV, they would be mortified at our house! The boys love Noggin (It's preschool on tv). They don't really sit and watch the shows but they will stop whatever they were doing when one of the songs comes on. Campbell likes to dance and Cooper claps his hands. Cooper has figured out how to turn the tv on and off which cracks me up expecially when Daddy is trying to watch football! I think he knows how funny mommy thinks it is! They both play Patty Cake, Peek a Boo and Itsy Bitsy Spider. They are so much fun. I can't believe they are almost ONE! :( It's going by soooo fast.

As for other news... we are expecting baby Surprise in early February. I am 19 weeks pregnant (already). Everything is going well. When we get a good ultrasound picture I will post it. We are waiting to find out the gender. Jack wants to know but I think that the pregnancy was a total surprise so why not keep the theme going? We have an ultrasound at the end of this month and Jack feels confident that he will be able to figure it out on his own. He said "I know what a penis looks like and I only have boys." He has also said that he thinks it's probably a girl because I am moodier than I was last pregnancy. ;) I am happy either way. I just want a happy healthy baby!

6 Months Old

Campbell and Cooper are 6 months old. I can't believe how fast the last few months have flown by. It seems like just yesterday we found out we were having twins! Both boys are rolling over and belly laughing. I love to hear them laugh! The best way to get them to laugh is to tickle their "Noop Noops" ( I know it may sound dirty but it is the spot between their neck and their little baby boobies. We have Daddy to thank for naming this body part).

We had our 6 month checkup and they are doing great. You would never know that they weighed less than 5 pounds and were in the NICU. They are both 27 1/2 inches long and in the 85th percentile for their height. Campbell weighs 18.4 lbs and Cooper weighs 17.2 lbs. We added chicken to their dinner and Campbell loves it. Cooper spits it out as soon as you pull the spoon out of his mouth. He will only eat it if you mix it with green (and only green) veggies!

They have completely switched in the past 2 months. Campbell was the loud outgoing one. Now, Cooper is always talking and will make friends with anyone who looks his way. He was a momma's boy. He has now joined the dark side. He loves his daddy! Campbell, on the other hand, is quieter (but can still squeal with the best when the mood is right). He is a lot more particular about who is holding him. We recently went to our cousin Yasmyn's birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese. Campbell finally let my cousin hold him after about 2 hours. I thought I would use the opportunity to run to the bathroom and change Cooper's diaper. Evidently he noticed that I was gone and I could hear him screaming at the top of his lungs over all of the crazy noise that is Chuck E. Cheese on a very busy Sunday afternoon. I have to say that although I don't want my son to be afraid... it feels kind of good that I'm the one that can make it all better!

The bluebonnets were in full bloom a few weeks ago so my friend Misti and I loaded up all of the kiddies and took a drive out to Montgomery. We were able to get some really great pictures. Cooper wanted to grab the bluebonnets with his toes! Campbell wanted to eat them! The Jacks were at baseball that day so they are missing from our pictures :( However, I love the picture of Alex holding the boys. Alex... is so grown up and handsome. We took over 250 pictures that day!

Both Alex and Jack are great with the babies. Alex helps me almost every night during bath time. He sits with one and watches Noggin (baby TV) while I bathe the other.

Jack E. is playing baseball and is having a great season so far. He's a great catcher and has gotten some awesome hits too.
Life is busy but I wouldn't trade it for anything. Sometimes I think back to the days when I could watch a movie or read a book (and finish it in less than a month). Life was good but it's even better now that there are 6 of us! I can't imagine my life any other way.

4 Months Old!

We have really grown!

Campbell weighs 15lb 15oz and is 24 inches long.

Cooper weighs 14lb 11oz and is 24 1/2 inches long.

We eat cereal, fruits, & veggies now...

We get very messy when we use a spoon!

Bath time is always fun. We love splashing Mommy! We both love the water. It's Mommy's favorite time of the day!

Campbell is a character and he is loud! He likes to squeal at the top of his lungs. In the morning he wakes up happy and cooing. His favorite toy is his bouncy chair. He reaches out and grabs toys and tries to put them in his mouth. He has the funniest expressions. When he is mad he crinkles his face and turns tomato red! When he is happy he smiles and his entire face lights up. He is a cutie-pie!
Cooper is sweet and loves to snuggle! He gives big, bright, smiles that will melt your heart. He is tender hearted and when his feelings get hurt he will let you know. The boy has lungs! He loves kisses and is happiest when he is being talked to one on one. His favorite toy is the baby gym. He tries to grab the toys and talk to them. He's a sweety.
After playing we get very sleepy!
It's been a busy month. The boys are doing great and love staying home with Daddy. Jack has them on a schedule and they are happier babies as a result. They know when it is time to go "night-night" and they go to sleep very easily. They also know when it is time to eat and boy can they eat! The doctor says they are both very healthy and right on schedule compared to other babies their age. We are so lucky!

3 1/2 Months Old

Wow... How time flies!

Campbell weighs 14 lbs 14 ounces (almost 10 lbs over his birth weight) and Cooper weighs 13 lbs 12 ounces (almost 9 lbs over his birth weight). Both eat like little piggies and have lots of fat rolls to show for it!
They both coo very well now. Campbell loves to say "Oh" and "agoo". He started squealing this week and he can get pretty loud. Cooper likes to say "Ahh" and squeals a little too. He just does it a little bit quieter than his brother.
Their personalities are really showing. Cooper is a little more timid. We have had a few family gatherings over the last few months and he definitely prefers small groups rather than large crowds. He is much happier one on one. Campbell on the other hand is a social butterfly. He will let almost anyone hold him!
Both boys are full of smiles now. When they wake up they start smiling almost immediately! I am always trying to catch a smile for the camera but have a hard time. They can be smiling away and as soon as I get the camera they get serious. They are fascinated with the camera and the cell phone. So they just sit and stare at it rather than giving me a gummy little grin.
Since I take soooooooo many pictures, I get some really funny ones. I thought you all might find them as amusing as I do!

It's hard to believe that 3 months ago we were in the hospital. The boys have come so far so fast and we couldn't be happier. They are really good babies and we feel very blessed.
